Why You Should Put All Your Trust In The Lord.

We all have a plan for our life. We tend to map out our life and make timelines for the things we want to accomplish. When I was 19 I had a plan that I would be married at 25 and start a family at 28 but I am no where near any of those two milestones. I also had a plan that I would graduated college and have this high paying girl boss job. Well I can tell you that only a portion of that happened. I did graduate college not once but twice —– look at God working. I do hold a position at a corporate company in Dallas, Texas. My finances…. well we aren’t going to get into that just yet. I have doubted God with the plans he has for my life. Now I am at a point in my life where I have to stop doubting him and start trusting him. Without trust there is no substance to the relationship. The bible tells you in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thin heart; and lean not unto thin own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Everything that you may think is yours isn’t really yours. You have no control over your life or how it will go. You may have a sense of which direction you may want your life to go but here’s a secret in just a blink of an eye everything can change. Your healthy, home, family, friends, etc doesn’t belong to you. God granted you those things in your life to give you balance. The same way he gives is the same way he can take away. Honestly the only thing that really belongs to you is your faith. You have control over something so powerful that can give your life substance and direction. Your faith is bigger than you think. Did you know that in the book of Matthew chapter 17 verse 20 in the bible it tells you “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” That is such a powerful verse and it is true! I am a speaking from experience and I have a testimony about that on my YouTube Channel – Video.

While growing up my mother always told me that my life is not mine it is the Lord’s and I never really understood what she meant that until I was in my mid twenties. When I was about 22 I learned to turn everything in my life over to the God. I read some where that we really can’t pick and choose what we what the God to change in our lives. The thing is he get to choose what he knows needs to be worked on in our lives.

Trusting in God means that we have to learn that the more we let go in our lives then the more God will return to us. It shows him that we have faith and we trust him with the most precious pieces of our lives. The things that make us happy and fills a big place in our hearts. When our loved ones get sick we tend to turn to God and trust in him to heal them and make them okay.

I know when things in my life aren’t going the way I plan thats why I usually doubt God. I remember calling my mother when I was going through a hard time in my life and she would always tell me “God has a plan for your life and he will make a way”. Even in the bad times when we things aren’t going the way we want them to God is always working. There comes a point in your life where everything seems to be going left but at these times in our lives is when God is busy working. If you haven’t seen the movie The Shack you should definitely see it …… but there is a song in this movie that touched my heart so much. Where Were You – Francesca Battiselli is such a beautiful song. She sings about asking God where was he when she needed him the most. Then she realized that he was there the entire the time. He was there carrying her when she needed him the most.

The thing is God has always been present in our lives even when we didn’t ask him to be. We are his children and he loves us. In Deuteronomy 31:6 it tells us “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

He promised to us that he will never leave us or forsake us especially in our time of need. At the best times and the worst times in your life God is there. We just have to trust his judgement and wait for his plan to unfold before us. God is full of surprises so that relationship that you cried about because it ended he has someone better for you. That one job you that was meant for you but you got fired yeah he already has something lined up for you. Oh yeah and when that one friendship you thought would last forever end its because may be he’s trying to keep you out of harms way.

The key in life is to trust in God and remember to surrender your heart to him and let it all go. Let him do all the work and follow his commandments. I still doubt God about certain situations in my life but I find myself smiling when I see how fast he works and why I should always trust God. So to the person reading this who is going through a hard time in life give it all to God.

  1. Wow, it’s crazy you wrote about trusting God because that is something that I have been struggling with for a while. It is also one of the reasons why I have been procrastinating with creating my blog. I know God has plans for me and He has placed somethings on my heart to share and fear of what if has stopped me from trusting in His plan for my purpose. But God is so awesome He had you write this and remind me that He will never leave nor forsake me!
